How it works
Press Start and the price begins to move from 100, with a new tick roughly every 70 milliseconds. Each tick is a small random change, and now and then there is a larger jump: the spikes the game is named after. You can hold one position at a time, long or short, with a size of one unit. Your P&L is counted in price points: if you go long at 101.20 and close at 103.00, you make 1.80 points. When the 45 seconds are up, any open position is closed at the last price. Your best score is stored only in your browser.
The price path is pure chance with no built-in trend, so over many rounds no strategy has an edge here: a good score is mostly luck, and rapid clicking in and out does not change that. That is the point of the game. It shows how easily a few lucky trades feel like skill and how quickly impulsive trades add up. In real markets you would also pay spreads and fees on every trade. The game is for fun and illustration only and says nothing about your trading ability.
